How do I know if I have asbestos?

You often can't tell by looking — asbestos was mixed into many building products between the 1950s and 1999. Artex, garage and shed roofs, floor tiles, soffits, pipe lagging, water tanks and insulation board are common places to find it in older buildings. The only certain way to know is a survey or a sample test.
