Asbestos removal vs encapsulation: which is right?
Removing asbestos isn't always the safest or most sensible option. Sometimes sealing it in place is better. Here's how to decide.

When to leave and encapsulate
Material in good condition, in a spot where it won't be disturbed, is often best sealed with encapsulation and managed. It's quicker, cheaper and avoids the fibre release that removal risks.
When to remove
If the material is damaged, deteriorating, or in the path of planned refurbishment or demolition, removal is the right answer. It's also sensible where the material would need constant monitoring.
Getting honest advice
A survey tells you the condition and risk of each material, and we advise on removal only where it's genuinely needed — not as a default.
